Legal Dartic app and website

Terms of Service

Last updated 19 October 2026

These terms are the agreement between you and us for using Dartic. Please read them; they explain your rights, how gems and purchases work, and the limits of our responsibility.

The short version

  • Dartic is free to learn with. Gems are optional and unlock reference solutions.
  • Gems have no cash value and can't be exchanged, transferred or sold.
  • Purchases go through Apple or Google, and refunds follow their rules.
  • The code you write is yours. The lessons, quizzes and problems are ours.
  • Be decent: don't abuse the app, other people, or the gem system.

01The agreement

Dartic (the app for iOS and Android, and the website at dartic.odinachi.space) is operated by Odinachi David, an individual developer based in Nigeria ("we", "us"). By downloading or using Dartic you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use Dartic.

02Who can use Dartic

You must be at least 13 to use Dartic. If you're under 18, you need permission from a parent or guardian, who also agrees to these terms for you and is responsible for any purchases.

03Your account

  • You can use the Dart course as a guest. Signing in with Google or Apple syncs your progress and unlocks the data structures course, algorithm practice and gems.
  • Keep your Google or Apple account secure. You're responsible for activity on your Dartic account.
  • Choose a username that isn't offensive, misleading or someone else's name or trademark. We may change or remove usernames that break this.
  • You can delete your account at any time in the app: Profile → Delete account.

04Acceptable use

Dartic is for learning. You agree not to:

  • break the law, or use Dartic to harm, harass or deceive anyone;
  • exploit bugs, use bots or scripts, or tamper with the app or its data to get gems, unlock solutions or affect anyone else's account;
  • attempt to access data that isn't yours, or disrupt or overload our services;
  • copy, republish or sell our lessons, quizzes, problems or solutions, except for personal study or as the law allows;
  • reverse engineer the app except as the law allows.

If you break these rules, we may remove gems gained through abuse, or suspend or close your account.

05Gems

Gems are a virtual item in Dartic. You can spend them to unlock reference solutions to algorithm problems. An unlocked solution stays unlocked for as long as your account exists.

  • New accounts receive free gems, and you can earn gems by solving problems for the first time, as described in the app. We may change how many gems are given or how they're earned in the future; this won't remove gems already in your balance.
  • Gems are a limited, personal, non-transferable licence to use a feature of the app. They are not money or property, have no cash value, and can't be exchanged for money or anything else outside Dartic, transferred to another account, or sold.
  • Gems don't expire while your account exists. They're deleted when you delete your account.
  • If we stop offering Dartic or gems, we'll give reasonable notice in the app where we can, so you have time to use your balance.

06Buying gems

  • Gem packs are sold as in-app purchases through Apple's App Store or Google Play, and are also subject to their terms. Prices are shown in the app before you buy, in your local currency.
  • Your purchase is complete when the store confirms it. Gems are then added to your account, usually within a few seconds. If they don't arrive, contact us with your receipt.
  • Purchased gems are delivered immediately for use in the app, so all sales are final except where the law gives you a right to a refund.
  • Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their policies; we can't process them directly. If a purchase is refunded, the gems from it are removed from your balance (it won't go below zero).
  • Nothing in these terms affects rights you have under consumer protection law where you live.

07The code runner

Code you write in the editor runs on your device inside an interpreter. It supports a subset of Dart, may behave differently from the official Dart SDK, and is meant for learning and practice, not production use. Don't run code you don't understand or that comes from untrusted sources. You're responsible for the code you write and run.

08Content and ownership

  • Ours: the lessons, quizzes, problems, solutions, design and app belong to us (or our licensors). We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use them in Dartic for your own learning.
  • Yours: code you write in the editor belongs to you, and it stays on your device.
  • We work hard to keep lessons accurate, but programming changes and mistakes happen. If you spot one, please tell us.

09Third-party services

Dartic relies on services from other companies, including Google (Firebase, sign-in, Google Play, YouTube), Apple (sign-in, App Store) and RevenueCat (purchases). Your use of those services is also subject to their terms. We aren't responsible for their content or availability.

10Disclaimers

We provide Dartic "as is" and "as available". To the extent the law allows, we don't promise that it will always be available, error-free or suitable for a particular purpose, or that its content is complete or up to date. Dartic is an educational tool and isn't professional advice.

11Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, we're not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for lost data, profits or opportunities, arising from your use of Dartic. Our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us for gems in the 12 months before the claim.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law, such as for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

12Ending the agreement

You can stop using Dartic and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms or the law, or if we stop providing Dartic. Where it's fair to do so, we'll tell you first and explain why. Sections 5 (gems have no cash value), 8, 10, 11 and 15 continue to apply after the agreement ends.

13Apple App Store terms

If you downloaded Dartic from Apple's App Store, these points also apply:

  • These terms are between you and us, not Apple. We, not Apple, are responsible for the app and its content.
  • Your licence is to use the app on Apple devices you own or control, as allowed by the App Store's Usage Rules.
  • Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the app.
  • If the app fails to meet an applicable warranty, you can notify Apple, which may refund the app's purchase price (if any). To the extent the law allows, Apple has no other warranty obligation for the app.
  • We, not Apple, are responsible for handling any claims about the app, including product liability, legal or regulatory compliance, consumer protection and intellectual property claims.
  • You confirm you're not in a country subject to a U.S. government embargo or on a U.S. government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
  • Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.

14Changes

We may update these terms as Dartic changes. We'll change the date at the top, and for significant changes we'll tell you in the app before they take effect. If you keep using Dartic after that, the new terms apply. If you don't agree, you can delete your account.

15Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Disputes will be handled by the courts of Nigeria, but if you live elsewhere you keep any right to bring proceedings in your local courts and the protection of your local consumer laws.

Before going to court, please contact us. Most problems can be sorted out quickly by email.

16General

  • These terms and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between you and us about Dartic.
  • If part of these terms can't be enforced, the rest still applies.
  • If we don't enforce a term straight away, we can still enforce it later.
  • You can't transfer your rights under these terms. We may transfer ours to someone who takes over Dartic, as long as your rights aren't reduced.
